7/8/03    So yeah its true. We are once again on the mega hunt for a new drummer.    Kid "Killer" informed us last night he will not be going on our tour (that is already halfway booked)   in September.  So here is your chance to weasel your way into the Exploding Hearts!!! - so if you're under 25 and    got the back beat we need and  the good taste to put in killer Badfinger drum fills then EMAIL US (adam@explodinghearts.com) and let us know.   This time our drummer must be able to tour,  and be ready to go out in late september for a few months...        We got bigger labels lined up for future records, we've got a video we're gonna be filming that Whitey Mc Connaughy      ( of MTV jackass fame AND did turbonegro, catheters, stitches Videos)       so we got shit goin on...      Tell your friends ...  Save one of the only good bands left ...

6/14/03    Buzzcockin' it was super fun, and for being kinda older dudes- man  they ruled  the streets!!  The Pitchfork interview is taking a little longer than expected  but should be up in the next few days  - I swear!   That Friday the 13th stuff was all bullshit!! i was trying to get hit by cars and get mugged, and start fights  with people who were taller than me...     and nothing...   wahhhhh  (cept for i did get to see the dictators for free , which was kind of like having bad luck) All the stuff you really want to know i have to keep hush hush for right now- cause pretty much everything is up in the air.  BUT i geuss i can say a certian late night talk show contacted us about playing live for them.... ALSO    Mike from Defiance took some new live photos of us and i posted them here.

5/26/03    Back from Boston and it was a total party blast.  I want say thanks to NICK and everyone from the Harvard Lampoon for having us and letting us watch your ninja turtle porno.   We have BRAND NEW t-shirts... and oh my sweet satan are they fucking cool!   I will be posting the image and maybe i might mail order a few   but all  future mail order prospects be warned:  i smoke pot. ALSO  Matt Le May from PITCHFORKmedia.com did an interview with us while were in Boston and it should be posted on their website in the next couple days complete with some pictures...

5/14/03    Actually the name of the group flying us out is Harvard Lampoon.... and i think they have  a website...   here      ALSO ADDED SOME NEW SHOWS...   one with the BUZZCOCKS 5/12/03    So here is whats going on...  "(making) Teenage Faces" on Vinyl Warning records is now in its 3rd repress and getting a new cover!  It looks genius and i have the artwork up HERE...  but dont tell nobody.    We are also getting new t shirt made up within the month and will have a full line of sizes... 5/6/03   So I am back in town from Riffs tour.    The Hearts have been working on some new BRAIN KILLING new tunes for ya'll.    And I know its been a while since i updated the site- but i still cant give out the full details on the California shows  yet- SORRY!   But I do wanna say hi  to all the SUPER cool people i met on the road- specially all the LA punks (Clit 45 bros, Tarek, etc)                And i am not gonna reveal too much about this     but i will say that the major label lurkers have been coming out of the wood work!  but never fear my friends    we wont be signing up to tour with SUM  41 or Avril     anytime soon....  I dont think i can even grow a goatee anyways....

4/10/03   HAHAHAHAH so yeah Seattle  was mucho party blast! And we made it courtesy of our new tour van, bought the night before the show. She is a green beauty!   the Smut Peddlers opened the night up and killed! And as always the Skullz blasted too.  The Addicts we're alright.  It was cool to see Olga (Toy Dolls) on bass and he was super nice!

4/7/03 We're supposed to play Graceland tomorrow with the Addicts and Skulls--  but still dont have a ride (or an amp, or a girlfriend, or any money.)       also from april 23d-may17th, I (adam) will be on tour with the RIFFS filling in as their drummer...  you can check out a tour schedule either at TKO records or the band site. I will be selling Exploding Hearts CDS and other crap  so if anyone wants to say hi -i 'll be the dude with the curly hair.

4/1/03 More good news today, the first pressing of the "Teenage Faces" single has sold out- but my friends do not worry- the good people at Vinyl Warning have already sent off the order for more and they say the next pressing of 500 black will be here in the next week! Also we are playing tonight (CD RELEASE PARTY!!!!) at the Satyricon with the SHAKEDOWNS (from DC!) and the RIFFS!!!  (new drummer!) its fucking tuesday night what else would you do now that joe millionare is gone? 3/27/03   WHOA!!!   the First Pressing (1300)of our debut album ,"Guitar Romantic", sold out in only 3 DAYS!!!   HOLY POOP! But fear not -for if you cannot find a copy out it, Dirtnap is going to be repressing REALLY SOON!!! AND the repress is going to feature HOT PINK CD trays!!! PINK ROCK RULES!!!

3/22/03    The next issue of the Willamette Week is gonna feature a full page article on the Exploding Hearts done by the one and only Sam Soule (Multiball). I think the title is gonna be "Heroes for Zeroes"...   NEW SHOW ADDED!   MARCH 29th we are doing a day time (4pm) instore at OZONE UK RECORDS on WEST BURNSIDE & 19th? (across from Powells Books)  its FREE AND ALL AGES and we will have our BRAND NEW CDs and Posters to sell...  and then later that night we're playing the blackbird with the DEADLY WEAPONS & HUSBANDS (who fucking totally RULE!!! and are from SF)

3/17/03    OWWWW!  Seattle was a blast last night thanks to the amazing HEART ATTACKS and SKULLS.  Thanks to Kelly Fireball (of Freedom) for the ride and the good time  (no pig blasting+super chron blasters )   We're REALLY looking forward to playing with the DEADLY WEAPONS on the 29th and you can check that out more  at SHOWS.                ps mod kix single moved up to #13       hi layla

3/14/03    Tomorrow night (SAT)  in Seattle: Skulls, New Town Animals, Exploding Hearts and the Heart Attacks @ ZAKs.   Its 21+, but dont worry all you (dumb) kids in Seattle we will be playing an all ages show at GRACELAND w/Skulls & Addicts on April 8th !!! so be there and bring us your report cards and for every "F" we will give you a beer....               Also on a side note the "Modern Kicks" Single has rocketed up to # 16 at interpunk.com. AND  there is crazy talk of a music video (!!!) in the works..... shot and directed by an insanly high profile (but for now unnamed)  director/ producer ... i will keep all ya'll posted.

3/4/03   Although the "Official release date" was pushed back the CDs are actually availible right now through Dirtnap Records online. Its only 11 bucks and has a whole new insert that the vinyl version (on screaming apple records) OUR CD RELEASE PARTY will be APRIL FOOLS DAY AT SATYRICON with killer east-coast band the Shakedowns. And we will have CDs for sale at the show. So please come down and bring money and buy drinks and CDs  because every other party you were invited to is gonna end up being a practical joke on you!!! 2/27/03   The release date of "Guitar Romantic" CD got pushed back to March 24th (instead of the 10th)  and i am not sure why. Pelado records is pretty much sold out of the 500 "Modern Kicks" singles so hopefully anyone who wanted one  got it!  I hear CRAZY  RUMOURS of a possible addicts/briefs/explodinghearts tour in april-  but again  right now all it is is a crazy rumour.   We are gonna be playing with our buddies and label mates the TRIGGERS at satyricon tomorrow night- its gonna be a real fucking blast so be sure to be there! why last month alone the triggers made 8 top tens in MRR!  we only made 4. 4 vs 8  figure it out! The latest review of the  (MAKING) TEENAGE FACES  single in MRR is GREAT!  I was told that the LP is getting reviewed next month - then the month after that we shall be forever imortalized on the cover. Living up to the fame of such bands like digital wizard, XfightXagnosticXjock, and grimple.   okay so i made all those names up. .

2/10/03   FUCK! Well where do I start???  Our "new drummer" quit the band a few days ago  which is okay cause he really wasn't good enough (his words)...so sounds like the end huh? Well Kid Killer just happened to be in my room when i got the call and when he over heard the news, he jumped up and slammed his beer and said" FUCK IT - I'M THE DRUMMER!"  So we're back to the original line up again and will be playing some shows coming up... go to SHOWS to check it out.   We will be touring in MAY with KID KILLER  to support the release of "GUITAR ROMANTIC" CD  all along the west coast and most states that are close-in ... more info on that when dates the dates are set in stone.      Our MRR interview/ cover is going to be the MAY issue and will ship in April...      Our Exotic interview is out and on-line and is pretty funny you can check it out HERE. 1/24/03   So after months and months of searching we have finally found a drummer (Kid Cochino) and he totally ROCKS!  We have moved practice spaces and are currently practicing up with him and let me just tell ya'll this CHINGON CAN PLAY ESSAY!!!!     We are going into the studio (in 8 hours -dammit)tomorrow  to finish up the SHATTERED single getting it ready to come out in April on DIRTNAP and are Playing a double header on SATURDAY!!! first at the twilight cafe with the local ledgends STRAIGHTJACKET- then we're off to Satyricon to rock with our label mates the DISTRACTION (from la) and the SPITS...  Also just finished up our interview in EXOTIC magazine. And for those  of you who dont live in Portland and dont know, Exotic is the local high class strip club magazine.... and the article was done by the punk porno queen herself : Coco Cobra (aka Viva Las Vegas)   I hear it will be availible in 8 days  so if you can find one pick it up. the title of the article is : EXPLODING HEARTS : young, loud and snotty   also want to mention thanks to kid killer for all the drums and fun times we'll miss you buddy. Our last show with Kid Killer will be Jan 31st in Seattle with the Briefs and Stuck Ups  at the CROCODILE.

1/13/03   Just finished up our MAXIMUM ROCK AND ROLL interview yesterday.  It should be in the April Issue... and their is rumours of possible cover action.  In SADDER news I hear from a reliable source (band member) that the new town animals are over!!!!  THIS SUCKS!!!  All the artwork for the CD  has been sent to Dirtnap complete with TOTALLY SCANDALOUS PICTURE OF ROXY EPOXY GRABBING MY  eerrrrrr crotch.  Its pretty funny and looks totally RAD!!!!  release date is......... MARCH 10th

1/7/03   GOT a GREAT review on NOWWAVE.   ALSO talked to TKO records about a RIFFS/ EXPLODING HEARTS/ DISKORDS+ 1 more Portland band CD featuring 2 songs by each band, it is going to be part of a series called "Scene Report" ours will be the Portland Edition-

1/4/03   Happy new years to ya'll. "Modern Kicks" the single on Pelado records is offically OUT NOW!!!  Pat is mailing me our copys today.  We got down at the Satyricon and kicked some major old rockstar ass all over the place. And have been talk to many drummers and hopefully we will be a real band sometime soon.

12/29/02   NEW MP3 added to SOUNDS page.  Its called "We Don't Have To Worry Anymore" It is going to come out as the B SIDE to the new "Shattered" single on Dirtnap... This version is pretty rough and totally un-mixed. We are going into JACKPOT! studios in JAN to finish it up.  But nevertheless its a pretty rockin tune that we usually like to play live...  and I know you are asking yourself is this another HEARTS song about being lonely and getting stoned?  and yes,  yes it is.

12/28/02   Still on the lookout for new drummers and we've got a couple responses so far , and hopefully something will come of atleast one of them.  We just got a GREAT review in the new TABLET   news paper from Seattle for our LP.  Also a new show has been added it will be on JAN 17th @ Berbabtis Pan (Portland) with the BANGS (kill rock stars) and the Whip.  AND added 2 new live pictures of myself andd Terry from the show we just did in Seattle thanks to Paul Maycroft. He has also informed me that there is plenty more where that came from so check out the live pics in the near future.....

12/22/02   Owww! just got back from partying in Seattle with the New Town Animals and the Spits. Thanks to EVERYONE at Singles Going Steady  for everything- you dugongs  rule !!! 12/16/02   NEW single will be coming out on Dirtnap Records:" (You left me) Shattered". It will be B/W "We don't have to worry anymore".  It is due out in stores in April. We will also be recording 2 new songs for a JOHNNY CAT split single- the song is"Is Johnny High?"

12/12/02    OOPS! I fucked up... the show on the 21st show with the New Town Animals is at the Crocodile not at the Continental. (thanks for the heads up girl who wrote in the guestbook)  Our CD release date is the same as the new Briefs EP on Dirtnap and that is good ... And i just heard the new Triggers LP that will also be on Dirtnap and it is FUCKING amazing.  Also put up some new pictures in new pictures.     ALSO we have GUITAR ROMANTIC 2.25" Buttons.. -TOTALLY GENE!
